After breaking his jaw in two places in his last match at NXT TakeOver 31, last October 4th in a fight against Kyle O'Reilly, NXT Champion Finn Balor is finally back to tread the rings of the yellow show on Wednesday WWE evening.
In the last episode of the weekly show that aired this night, Finn Balor has finally returned to be seen still a little sore in his face, with the surgery undergone on his jaw that forced him home with a swollen face for weeks and with the WWE management who thought for a few days whether to remove the belt from the champion, as did his predecessor, Karrion Kross, or whether to wait for the end of the injury period to bring him back on stage.
The Undisputed Era returned to WWE NXT to help Finn Balor
After thus making a surprise reappearance in the NXT ring, with Io Shirai still celebrating the victory of his match, Finn Balor wanted to do a promo on the microphone praising himself as a big and bad "son of a bitch", with the 'NXT Champion who revealed to fans that he now has a plaque in his face that holds his fractured bone together and will continue to fight despite everything.
However, Pat McAfee and the rest of his stable, formed by Pete Dunne, Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch, immediately rushed to interrupt the champion. Once surrounded the ring, however, Finn Balor revealed that he has brought friends for this eventuality, since he knows that Pat McAfee and his cronies only take advantage of it "when the cat is not there", so to come to help.
of the NXT Champion, the guys from the Undisputed Era also arrived, who immediately began to give it a hard time with the four enemies of the McAfee stable and with the NXT audience that immediately went into delirium. Who knows now that Finn Balor is back if the first challenger to his title will be Pat McAfee or someone else from his stable and if above all Balor will already be able to fight in-ring after the bad injury that happened to him in the last TakeOver of the Stamford company? Finn Balor closed out this week’s episode of WWE NXT to talk about his jaw and the future of the NXT Championship.
Balor was interrupted by Pat McAfee, Pete Dunne, Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch. McAfee told Balor that he should hand his title over and it looked like Balor was about to be attacked. The lights turned off and then The Undisputed Era walked out to brawl with McAfee’s crew.
It did not look like Balor got physically involved in the brawl, which could be a sign that he is not cleared yet to wrestle.
