WWE NXT announces War Games Pay-Per-View

The announcement came during the latest episode of NXT: once again this year the black-yellow brand will present NXT TakeOver: War Games on Sunday 6 December. Therefore, one of the most popular stipulations by the public is making the great return, in which two teams of four Superstars will collide within a steel structure that will surround two rings.

Also this year the War Games Match will be two and both have already been officially announced. The first of the two will regain the women's division, which already surprised at TakeOver: War Games last year when Team Ripley defeated Team Baszler.

On this occasion, the captains of the two teams will be two athletes who have been engaged in a bitter rivalry for weeks: Shotzi Blackheart and Candice LeRae. During the episode, it was reported by the commentary table that the two wrestlers will have to choose the components of their teams, but you can already have an idea about the participants in this match.

In fact, Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell attacked Ember Moon and Toni Storm at the end of a match that saw the two babyfaces triumph over the couple made up of Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzales, suggesting a first draft of the heel team, with Moon and Storm who instead, they could join Shotzi Blackheart.

NXT Takeover will feature some interesting matches

The second War Games Match was sanctioned by General Manager William Regal after the end of the last installment of NXT. In the finale of the episode, Pat McAfee and the rest of his stable interrupted the promo of the returning NXT Champion Finn Bàlor, who in turn presented the return of the complete Undisputed Era.

The members of the stable led by Adam Cole were, in fact, absent for weeks due to the attacks of the McAfee stable and returned to NXT to seek revenge. The confrontation degenerated into a major brawl that continued beyond the show's closing.

In an exclusive video aired on WWE social media accounts, William Regal intervened to stop the two teams and to sanction a final battle within the War Games. However, NXT trumped AEW in this arena. The NXT Universe has always responded extremely positively to the War Games concept.

The structure is built to withstand eight men battling it out and for one team to emerge victorious. Inside the four walls of the rectangular structure, flesh meets steel and wrestlers explore their creativity. This year, the NXT Universe will be seeing the most exciting edition in the short history of the event. The Undisputed Era made their return to NXT to bring the fight to Pat McAfee’s posse.
