It was initially speculated that former Impact Wrestling knockouts champion, Mia Yim had signed a contract with the WWE. Now, it has been confirmed that the 29-year-old has, indeed, signed with the WWE. The confirmation came through a tweet by the WWE itself.
The tweet which was posted late on Thursday evening stated that Yim would be making her WWE debut in a live NXT event to be held on Saturday in Fort Pierce, Florida. "#WWEMYC competitor @MiaYim will make her #NXTLIVE debut this Saturday 9/29 at #NXTFtPierce!" the tweet read, along with the details of the ticket pricing.
Rumours about the WWE signing the two-time Mae Young Classic competitor had been generated after fans who had attended the 2018 Mae Young Classic event had repeatedly chanted that she be given a WWE contract. In response to the fans' chants, Triple H had agreed that she would be signed by the company.
Thereafter, a video had emerged which showed Yim at the WWE's performance center in Orlando, Florida. Prior to her signing, Yim has made several appearances in the WWE in the past, beginning in 2014 and 2015. Later, she has also worked as a jobber for the company, incidentally in its NXT promotion. During her stint with Impact Wrestling, she went by the ring-name of Jade.
