The last special event dedicated entirely to NXT has now gone to the archives, with NXT TakeOver: Vengeance Day that has given great emotions as always, this time however already from its kick-off of the evening. During some phases of the WWE-run pre-show of the company's third roster special event, former Impact Wrestling World Champion Eli Drake, now called merely LA Knight, appeared surprisingly, who confirmed as of now he will be part of the WWE yellow roster, having signed a contract with the McMahons.
But obviously, the surprises did not end there. Immediately after the main event, which saw the reigning champion Finn Balor triumph once again, engaged in a titled match against Pete Dunne, the unthinkable happened, with the Undisputed Era that seems to have come to loggerheads, after years of working together.
NXT TakeOver: Vengeance Day ended with a stunning surprise
Immediately after Balor's victory, in fact, obviously, the heel could not refrain from attacking the reigning champion, after seeing the Irishman confirm his physical predominance over his opponent, so Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch joined forces with Pete Dunne to teach Finn Balor a lesson.
Obviously, as happened in the past weeks of the NXT show, the Undisputed Era came to save the Irishman, with Adam Cole, Roderick Strong and Kyle O'Reilly immediately rushing to save the NXT Champion from yet another assault, making run away from heels.
What no one expected, however, is that Adam Cole would go and attack the defending champion with a Superkick, leaving his teammates amazed and later, even more surprisingly, Cole then hit O 'with another Superkick. Reilly, who tried in vain to make him think about what he had done.
To remain incredulous in front of this whole scene, Roderick Strong had remained in the meantime, in a total panic because he did not know who to be on whose side, after such a betrayal. But now for the fans, the question is only one: that the Undisputed Era with this move has now finally dissolved? With Cole attacking the NXT Champion as well, Balor would also be gunning to lay his hands on him sometime in the future.
As fun as NXT has been in recent months, it felt a little dry due to a lack of intense rivalries. However, the developments on today's show are sure to bring a lot of eyeballs to the product and possibly even help in winning the rating war against AEW Dynamite.
That said, the fans reacted wholesomely to this betrayal on NXT TakeOver: Vengeance Day. Do share your thoughts in the comments section below.
