PFL Chairman Breaks Silence on Francis Ngannou’s Return: “Boxing will be first”

Francis Ngannou has unfinished business in the world of boxing, he kept repeating how he isn’t done with his boxing career and will soon be back against the big names. The chairman of PFL, Donn Davis recently took the time to address how Francis Ngannou will compete in an MMA match but ‘boxing will be first’. Ngannou’s last match against Renan Ferreira was explosive, the Cameroonian fighter claimed a solid 1st round knockout victory. Tyson Fury announced retirement and he seemed to be pretty serious about his decision; with him out of the fight game, Francis Ngannou will have to look for another opponent in the heavyweight division. 

Donn Davis on Francis Ngannou’s return 

In a recent interview with MMA Fighting, Donn Davis spoke about Francis Ngannou’s next step. 

“If I had to guess, I would think boxing will be first, given the opportunities he has, I don’t want to say anything about that. That’s his business for him to announce, but he has unbelievable boxing opportunities”.

The champion was pretty consistent last year, his fans can expect him to show up 2-3 times in 2025 too. It will be interesting to see who he ends up fighting next.
