Ilia Topuria’s first call-out after becoming the UFC featherweight champion was Conor McGregor.
If such an opportunity is offered to him in the near future, he won’t shy away and would love to entertain it because of how massive the event could turn out to be. From body tattoos to the self-belief system, both fighters share very similar characteristics.
However, as of now, Topuria’s top priority is to get a title shot against Islam Makhachev before the year ends. He revealed that the UFC promised him that his next fight would be for the title.
On the flip side, Conor McGregor’s return is very puzzling, for some reason or another it always gets postponed. Dana White last mentioned how it could happen this fall. It will be one of the biggest MMA comebacks in the history of the sport.
If all goes well, a fight between Topuria and McGregor can definitely happen, promising to be one of the most entertaining fights in history of the sport.

Ilia Topuria on Fighting Conor McGregor
Recently on the Joe Rogan Experience Podcast, the former featherweight champion expressed how he’s open to fighting McGregor if the fight was offered.
“Actually, we had the talks , You know how the UFC is: They are very specific, ‘Don’t say anything to no one.’ But if they offer me a fight against Conor right now, I’ll say why not? Why not? I wouldn’t say no. That would be a great one. If you put him against me, he needs to die and be born again”.
