Kamaru Usman dropped jaws and proved all naysayers wrong that doubted him by delivering a phenomenal performance against a contender as hungry as Joaquin Buckley.
The fight went on till the last round, but it was the effort, domination, and determination that electrified the entire arena and gave fans worldwide a glimpse of the glorious legacy the Nigerian nightmare had before he lapped into the three-match losing streak.
After claiming a unanimous decision win, Kamaru Usman called out to fight the winner of Islam Makchev and Jack Della Maddalena but the former champion Belal Muhammad felt that he was the ideal opponent for Usman’s next fight.
Belal Muhammad on Facing Kamaru Usman
In a recent YouTube video, Belal Muhammad took the time to address how Kamaru Usman is an ideal target for his next bout.
“What I see, what I want, I wanted him to get on the mic and call me out, I think that’s the next one that makes sense. That’s the only fight that makes sense. If you’re talking about the division, we have history. We’ve been going back and forth. It’s a clear No. 1 contender fight. He’s calling for the belt, 185,s 170, but I’m No. 1. I’m still the guy at the top. So let’s do it. I think you could pick the date, pick the time, the place, and I’ll be ready for it”.
