Dustin Poirier is a few weeks away from his ‘last dance’ against former foe Max Holloway.
This is a trilogy bout where Poirier has a lead of 2-0. A lot is at stake since it’s his retirement fight; no fighter would want to end their glorious career with a loss.
Former UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev is vouching for Poirier and can foresee him claiming a win.
Stylistically, it’s striker vs striker. Both fighters have tremendous capabilities and it will be very interesting to see their execution.
Max Holloway is laser-focused on getting vengeance and disrupting El Diamante’s retirement fight.
For the FINAL time! 😤

Islam Makhachev’s Prediction
In a recent interview with MMA Junkie, Islam Makhachev shared his thoughts on the trilogy between Porier and Max Holloway.
"I think Dustin will win, He told me this is his last fight and I think he's going to be ready. He's going to be ready. He's going to win, I think. Dustin is a very good guy, from my opponents I respect two guys: Volkanovski and Dustin. They're really nice guys. I send them messages”.
Post-retirement plans
Most fighters keep up to their decision. It will be interesting to see if DP comes out of retirement.
DP makes a cheeky statement:

“Listen, I’m getting on steroids. Once USADA stops knocking on my door and I lay the gloves down, I’m getting JACKED.” 😭😭
