One of the most unexpected match-ups of the year has been announced, the MMA legend Tony Ferguson will be locking horns with social media influencer Salt Papi for a boxing bout at the Misfits 22 event scheduled to take place on 30th August at the AO Arena in Manchester.
This will be Tony Ferguson’s boxing debut. He will be returning after a year of fulfilling his last match in the UFC. He is currently on an 8 match losing streak, his fans are looking forward to seeing him break out of it.
The audience's reaction has been a little negative because they expected El Cucuy to face a more credible opponent, given his history as a lethal striker.
Before this announcement, Tony Ferguson was meant to face Dillon Danis for an MMA match at GFL. However, a few legal disputes and other undisclosed problems cancelled all announced events.
On the flip side, this is a massive milestone for Salt Papi, who will be facing the most notable opponent of his career. It will be interesting to see if he can extend Ferguson's losing streak.

Darren Till vs Luke Rockhold
Misfits Boxing also announced another eye-catching matchup: Darren Till vs Luke Rockhold. Both fights will take place under the same card. The event is roughly a month away, and more details about the first press conference will soon be disclosed.
