The upcoming UFC middleweight title fight between Dricus Du Plessis and Khamzat Chimaev has created a lot of hype and excitement.

The audience has a neutral take on the outcome of the fight.

Robert Whittaker is vouching for Dricus Du Plessis and can foresee him successfully defending his belt.

The upcoming fight promises to include a lot of grappling, and DDP’s response to the vicious takedowns will play a crucial role in dictating the fight results.

Khamzat Chimaev had absolutely chewed on the best strikers in the UFC roster with only one element: grappling. Truth be told, DDP hasn’t faced an opponent like Chimaev yet, and it will be interesting to see how the blockbuster clash unfolds on 16th August.

Robert Whittaker’s Prediction

In a recent interview, Robert Whittaker explained who he thinks will win on 16th August at UFC 319.

"I think I'm leaning towards Dricus. Chimaev will take him down — it's will he finish him before he gets back up? Because if he doesn't finish him on the ground, I think he loses."

Robert Whittaker still strives to fight for the prestigious title; he looks forward to showing up on approximately four more occasions. He believes that winning 4 times successively can earn him his desired opportunity. He has a bout scheduled against Reinier de Ridder next Saturday night at UFC Abu Dhabi.
