Tom Aspinall recently claimed his highly desired position as the UFC heavyweight champion. The sudden declaration was a result of Jon Jones retirement, that only lasted a few weeks.
UFC is actively looking for an opponent for Tom Aspinall’s first title defense.
The former light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira took the time to update fans with his current weight, which turned out to be 110kgs/243 Pounds.
Interestingly, Alex Pereira competed at 185 and 205 pounds. The recent clip indicates how Poatan can also compete in the heavyweight division. Tom Aspinall wasn’t too shocked to see the visuals; he deciphered the hype-creating potential behind it.

Tom Aspinall on Alex Pereira Weight Jump
In a recent interview with UFC Op Eurosport, Tom Aspinall shared his thoughts on Alex Pereira’s weight gain clip.
“As far as he’s concerned, I think that if I was him, I’d want to get a rematch and get the light heavyweight belt back, but I’m not him, so I don’t know. I don’t know. But I think the weight thing, the guy and his team know what they’re doing on social media. They know how to make headlines, which is good. I think, as far as I’m aware, that’s quite normal for him and other big light heavyweights to get up to 240, 250. So I don’t know. Maybe he’s just teasing it, maybe he’ll be in. I have no idea”.
