Khamzat Chimaev has given the ‘scariest MMA fighter’ label to the former UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones because of how he handled and claimed victories against some of the toughest fighters.
Upon hearing the compliment, Jon Jones had nothing but gratitude to express. He also highlighted Khamzat Chimaev’s humility in making such a comment because he, too, has the impression of being a formidable opponent.
Interestingly, the ‘scariest MMA fighter’ has reversed his retirement decision as he’s looking forward to fighting at the UFC White House event scheduled to take place on 4th July 2026.

In a recent interview with Red Corner MMA, Jon Jones reacted to Khamzat Chimaev’s compliment.
“That’s a huge compliment coming from Khamzat. I am big fan, I don’t think he has any reason to tooth my horn or even be humble. He doesn't have to be. I mean, heavyweights fear him and the fact that he has so much respect for me really means a lot. It shows me a lot about his character and his humility to be able to compliment someone in such a huge way. So, I am very grateful and honored”.

Khamzat Chimaev will be fighting Dricus Du Plessis on 16th August at the UFC 319 event. One of the most thrilling middleweight clashes. Both fighters are unbeaten in the UFC, but that changes on Saturday night.
