Daniel Cormier is excited and yet concerned about Charles Oliveira’s fight announcement against Rafael Fiziev.
The lightweight clash is scheduled to take place on 12th October at the UFC Rio main event.
It is being looked upon as an ‘early return’ by DC and the MMA community because of having recently faced a first-round knockout loss against Ilia Topuria.
It strongly resembles a determined fighting ethic, but another individual who shared a similar approach was Alexander Volkanovski. Unfortunately, over-activeness cost him a lot – he was welcomed with successive knockout losses.
No fan would wish the same for Charles Oliveira.
Daniel Cormier feels he could have spent more time on rest and recovery.
Only time can tell whether the 'early return' yields hefty profits or not. As far as Charles Oliveira is concerned, he's hungry for redemption and will be using this oppotunity to prove himself.
Daniel Cormier on Charles Oliveira’s Fight Announcement
In a recent YouTube video, Daniel Cormier shared his honest thoughts on Charles Oliveira’s early return to the octagon.
"He's a nice guy, he's a tremendous fighter, he has done so many great, fun things. But then you wonder why so soon? That was my thought once I calmed down from the excitement of, oh my goodness, Charles Oliveira is fighting again against Rafael Fiziev. It's going to be a barnburner because both of these guys are great strikers".

"I've never been knocked out in my life. Everything in life has a first time. Unfortunately, mine arrived; I was knocked out by a tough guy. I went home sad, crying, angry. But now, truly, I'm more than ready.
