WWE fans were treated to an exciting preview of what's to come during the upcoming "ROH Honor Club" episode, slated for August 3rd, at the live taping held in Hartford, Connecticut's XL Center on July 29th. The evening's proceedings were conducted concurrently with "AEW Collision" held at the same venue, making for a riveting spectacle.
As reported by F4WOnline, the audience was treated to a marathon of 13 matches, five of which took place before "Collision" and the remaining eight after AEW's show. It remains unclear, however, whether all of these matches will be broadcast on the scheduled August 3rd episode or if some will be kept in reserve for future "ROH Honor Club" episodes.
Excitement Peaks at ROH Tournament
The spotlight was primarily focused on the ROH TV Title Eliminator Tournament's two seminal bouts. This ongoing contest has fans on the edge of their seats as it determines the next contender for the illustrious title currently held by Samoa Joe.
Additionally, announced matches included ROH Pure Champion Katsuyori Shibata's successful defense against Joshua Woods, and a tantalizing face-off between ROH Women's Champion Athena and Diamante. A thrilling contest saw The Infantry duo, Carlie Bravo & Captain Shawn Dean, overcome Nick Comorato & Jora Johl.
Christine Marie, however, fell to Robyn Renegade, and The Boys were defeated by The Gates of Agony, featuring Toa Liona & Kaun. Adding to the suspense, Shane Taylor triumphed over Christopher Daniels in the ROH TV Title Eliminator tournament semifinal, and Powerhouse Hobbs outdid Mike Magnum.
Cole Karter secured a victory against Leon St. Giovanni, an event of interest as The Kingdom's Maria Kanellis-Bennett was reportedly scouting ringside. Lelya Hirsch similarly defeated Mirana Vionette, with Maria once again in the observer's seat.
Aussie Open (Kyle Fletcher & Mark Davis) triumphed over The Iron Savages (Bear Bronson & Bear Boulder). However, they appeared without their ROH World Tag Team titles, sparking rumors they might lose them to El Hijo del Vikingo and Komander, their challengers on the upcoming "AEW Dynamite." ROH Women's Champion Athena retained her title against Diamante, Dalton Castle (assisted by The Boys) outmatched Zack Clayton, and in the other ROH TV Title Eliminator semifinal, Gravity defeated Tony Nese.
In a dramatic conclusion, Komander & Hijo del Vikingo defeated The Workhorsemen (Anthony Henry & JD Drake), only to be attacked by Aussie Open, further fueling the title loss speculation.
