Legendary UFC MMA Fighter, Cain Velasquez was present at NJPW’s Super J-Cup tournament that was held in San Francisco recently. According to a report by ESPN, he had an informal meeting with NJPW officials. "Cain Velasquez is at the New Japan Super J Cup show tonight in San Francisco," Raimondi tweeted out.
"Sources said he'll be having an informal meeting with NJPW officials. Velasquez is signed on for two more Lucha Libre AAA matches, but several other wrestling promotions have interest, per sources." Cain Velasquez won the UFC World Heavyweight title twice in his MMA career.
He made his professional wrestling debut this month at the AAA TripleMania XXVII event. He was Cody Rhodes and Psycho Clown’s partner. They wrestled the team of Texano Jr., Taurus, and Killer Kross that night. Cain Velasquez won that night with his team.
Cain will be wrestling at an AAA event which is going to take place at the Madison Square Garden on the 15th of September. An appearance to take place on the 15th of October is also scheduled for The Forum in Inglewood, California.
Cain is still part of the UFC, and is listed as a member of the roster. His current UFC contract doesn’t disallow him from seeking a career in professional wrestling alongside his MMA career. Cain is one of the few big MMA stars that have transitioned to professional wrestling in recent times.
