Many indie wrestlers work for famous indie promotions. Most of them are offered good contracts, but they cannot work for any other promotion until their contracts expire or they are released by the promotion. Matt Taven is one of the most famous Ring of Honor wrestlers.
His ROH contract will expire soon. His contract will expire on the 1st of October. He competed at the recent Death Before Dishonor PPV event where he lost his ROH World title. He was present at Death Before Dishonor Fallout and spoke about his ROH Status.
According to PWInsider, he will not be leaving ROH anytime soon and will work for the company. Taven spoke about his career on the WINCLY podcast recenlty, “The wrestling business is one of those things where you can never say, 'This is definitely gonna happen.'
So, I'm leaving it at that. It's one of those things where it will be sorted out in time." Matt Taven started climbing to the top of ROH in 2013. He won the ROH's Top Prospect Tournament that year. He then became the Grand Slam Champion in ROH history.
He has held titles in ROH, NJPW, and CMLL and is one of the only 3 men in the world to do that. Matt Taven can find work outside of ROH and he can join the WWE if he wishes. He is very loyal to ROH and that is why he won’t leave the company.
