The WWE world has once again been shocked by an incredible series of resounding layoffs that, in some ways, has left the entire WWE Universe and beyond totally speechless. Plenty of top wrestlers in the company have been released, the main one is probably former WWE Universal Champion Braun Strowman who, surprisingly enough, was turned away from Vince McMahon's company.
Waiting for further sensational releases and news on further reasons for the choice of the Stamford-based company, the colleagues of Fightful Select have tried to explain the reasons for the dismissal of Braun Strowman and the first reactions backstage.
The reason for the dismissal of Braun Strowman
As in the most obvious epilogues, The Monster Among Us was released for economic reasons: Strowman had a four-year contract until 2023 for about one million euros a year, a drain that the company apparently could no longer afford.
The wrestler's dismissal was shocking enough for WWE Universe fans but it doesn't seem to have been the same for the wrestler's colleagues, who have recently been busy on Monday Night Raw: most wrestlers, always reporting to Fightful, aren't surprised at the choice.
of the company of Vince McMahon and indeed many were aware that the costs of Strowman's contract were really many, perhaps in some ways exaggerated. Also for this reason it seems that initially, Strowman was very silent about his contract.
The last time Braun Strowman made his appearance for WWE was on WWE TV during the Pay Per View of Wrestlemania Backlash where he was involved in the Triple Threat Match valid for the WWE Championship against Drew McIntyre and the champion Bobby Lashley but on that occasion, he was defeated.
It feels really surprising that superstars of this level have been released by the company with some of these superstars having been recently engaged in new particular storylines. In addition to Braun Strowman, Aleister Black, Lana, Buddy Murphy, Ruby Riott and NXT star Santana Garrett have also been released.
