Braun Strowman has been a hot topic in the pro wrestling world this week, as the former Universal Champion has been surprisingly released from his WWE contract. And in the meantime, The Monster Among Men is taking advantage of being a free agent to tell some background of his long experience for the Stamford-based company.
Braun Strowman is now a former SmackDown all-time champion, and he feuded with some of WWE's most recognized champions and superstars during his time with the company, including Brock Lesnar. At the Royal Rumble in 2018, for example, Brock Lesnar defended his WWE Championship against Kane and Braun Strowman in an extremely heated Triple Threat Match, and at one point it seemed that things had heated up in the ring when Lesnar punched Strowman in the head.
Braun Strowman and the near fight with Brock Lesnar
Strowman recently told 'talkSPORT' about The Beast Incarnate's hard blow to the head and revealed that after the match, when he and Brock returned backstage, they had a big laugh together.
“We laughed about it later. It is what it is. We went backstage and I told him it was my fault. He said the same thing and we went on as if nothing had happened. We are both adults, we both knew what we were getting into and at the end of the day, we are both very dominant athletes.
Neither of us wanted to give up an inch, so in the end, we both learned something from that situation." At the time there was a lot of talk about that story, for which Braun Strowman was extremely criticized and even accused of lack of professionalism.
Obviously, there is no proof from Brock Lesnar (who was described at the time as being very irritated) that the matter had actually been resolved in such a friendly manner, although it is certainly true that the two have since had the opportunity to work together (i.e. against each other) on several other occasions.
