WWE made a long series of releases last April, including veteran female wrestling legend Mickie James. There was a lot of controversy surrounding this release as the wrestler "thanked" the federation for having received her items in a garbage bag.
There was a tough back and forth but in the end, Stephanie McMahon managed to apologize to one of the greatest wrestlers in female history and finally cleared things up. Now the WWE legend and 6-time champion of this federation will be part of the upcoming NWA Pay per View for women only, or NWA Empower, which will take place on August 28, 2021.
Mickie James viciously attacks the WWE
Recently interviewed on Busted Open Radio, Mickie James talked about her release from WWE and revealed that she didn't feel very respected during her latest WWE adventure. Here are her statements: “I try to stay humble and I really feel like a very respectful person.
But I've heard too many. In my first 15 years, I did very well and now you see, if you think about it, I haven't won a title in the last four and a half years, not even once, that's absurd. A couple of times I've been in contention for the title, but I've never had real success and I've never even been approached for something like that.
I don't even know what I did and why they treated me like this in my last run in WWE." Since the day of her release Mickie James has thrown several digs at her former federation remembering how all her proposals were promptly rejected and the same he recalled how her proposal to organize an all-female brand was immediately and without particular problems rejected.
James stated that the reason was a purely economic question. Speaking with Tommy Dreamer and Dave LaGreca on Busted Open Radio, Mickie James revealed that she’s heartbroken about her current wrestling career but noted that she's working on something new: "I have such a — I’m so nervous because I really — I don’t know what to do," stated James.
"I do know that I am personally working on something. I’m working on my own little project thing and we’ll see what happens there. Obviously, I have Legacy supps and stuff and I’m taking appearances and bookings but I really — when I talked to you Tommy [Dreamer] and I was like I just — I don’t even know how I feel.
I’m so heartbroken in a sense, you know? I’m not gonna cry. But I am, I’m a bit heartbroken in the business because it’s a bit disappointing. That’s all."
