For more than a year now, Roman Reigns has been the undisputed star of SmackDown and the face of WWE. His enormous success came after returning from a hiatus due to covid-19 which saw him join forces with Paul Heyman, the great manager of the company.
In recent months, the rumors about his possible future opponents have become more and more insistent, also because Roman at this point has such a high status in the world of wrestling that it is difficult to find someone truly worthy to snatch his belt and bring an end to a reign that feels quite majestic in the wrestling world.
The most discussed names are definitely Brock Lesnar, John Cena and The Rock, three names which, however, combined with that of Roman, deserve a really big stage for the possible epic challenges that could come out inside the square, in fact, we often talk about Summerslam or Wrestlemania.
Just turning to John Cena and The Rock, who have now dedicated themselves to their career as actors, without ever forgetting their origins, Roman wanted to dedicate a few words.
Roman Reigns on John Cena and The Rock
Speaking, staying inside the character, to the microphones of the ESPN show SportsNation, current WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns sent a clear message to The Rock and John Cena about their possible return to challenge him.
“Yes, that is a dream for many fans [Roman Reigns vs The Rock]. It's not a dream for me, do you know what I mean? I often happen with Dwayne and John Cena as well. These guys are doing very well for themselves. There is no doubt about that, so I don't know"
Then he adds, perhaps wanting to tease the two: “If I were these guys, I don't know if I would like to go back and have something to do with me. They're a problem for everyone right now, so if I were them I'd stay on set.
I would keep pumping these streaming movies. Don't come in the ring… that's what I'd do”. Who knows if The Rock and John Cena will take the hint and stay on their movie set or step forward to end the reign of a truly dominant Roman Reigns.
SmackDown Tag Team Champion Rey Mysterio is set to challenge Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship at WWE Hell in a Cell on June 20. In a separate interview with Georgia Tech Athletics, Reigns took another shot at Cena and The Rock while promoting Hell in a Cell.
