Chris Jericho reveals new details of his farewell to WWE

Chris Jericho was one of the many stars who recently left WWE to join the fledgling All Elite Wrestling project. The Canadian star has worked for a long time in Vince McMahon's federation, becoming one of the most successful and popular wrestlers still around.

Recently interviewed by Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Radio, Y2J revealed his discussions with the WWE boss just before accepting Tony Khan's offer. McMahon did not take Jericho's words very seriously, believing that the latter only wanted to get him a more profitable contract.

Lately, the likes of The Big Show, Mark Henry and Andrade have decided to change sides and have joined All Elite Wrestling (waiting to understand Braun Strowman's future).

Chris Jericho has been a WWE symbol for a very long time

“Honestly, I think up until the last time Vince McMahon thought I was bluffing to get more money out of him.

A person who has known me for so long should have known that I'm not that kind of man. I've always been honest with him, at least as long as possible. I'm sure Vince underestimated that situation and today he regrets it, he could have done more to keep me in WWE” - explained Chris Jericho.

However, the former AEW champion expressed his esteem for Vince McMahon: “I've always enjoyed working with a character like him, it's like we've challenged and improved each other. It wasn't always easy to deal with, but it was worth it”.

Chris selected the most important title of his career: "Everyone remembers the Undisputed Championship because of its monumentality, but I choose the AEW World Championship, because AEW was still a gamble at that juncture.

Initially we only had a share of advertising revenue on TNT, but the feedback was so positive that we immediately signed a four-year extension for $ 175 million." Chris Jericho has stated in the past that he has a good relationship with Vince McMahon.

The AEW star revealed in his appearance on Stone Cold Steve Austin's Broken Skull Sessions that one of the main reasons for him joining WWE was to work with McMahon. The former AEW Champion disclosed last year that he missed interacting with the WWE Chairman.

On his latest podcast episode, Chris Jericho slammed WWE's booking habits and predicted how the company would've treated his AEW faction, The Inner Circle, if they were on its roster. Former WWE Superstar Lana, now known as CJ Perry, was a guest on the latest episode of "Talk is Jericho."

She spoke about her time in WWE, including a major spot involving her that was scrapped because of Roman Reigns, and what Vince McMahon texted her after her release.
