Murphy pays tribute to Alexa Bliss

WWE has released several prominent and non-prominent athletes over the past few months and among them is definitely Buddy Murphy, wrestler we first saw in the interesting feud between Seth Rollins and the Mysterios and then cheated on his partner in the surprising Liaison where he joined Aalyah Mysterio, Rey's very young daughter.

Months later, after several absences from the Main Roster, WWE released many wrestlers and among them also Buddy Murphy. During the Insight podcast with Chris Van Vliet Murphy thanked the WWE for making him a better performer and in particular talked about his relationship with Alexa Bliss, ex-girlfriend and woman with whom he continues to share a great relationship.

Murphy made the following statements: "I am really grateful to Alexa Bliss. Since I have been in WWE and in general since I came here she has been a fundamental person to me. We shared a lot together, we had pets together and recently we lost our pet pig, Larry, rest in peace, she was crucial to me.

Throughout our career we have had ups and downs, at times I hated her and she too has had ups and downs but without her, I don't think I would have lasted that long in her company. She helped me, she was the shoulder to lean on when things got tough and so for me for how things went I'm definitely grateful."

Alexa Bliss and Buddy Murphy were engaged for a while and shared their WWE experience together but their story ended in the now distant 2018. Now Alexa Bliss is engaged to musician Ryan Cabrerà.

Buddy Murphy and Alexa Bliss worked in a trio with Wesley Blake with the trio that didn't come along with the Main Roster (they came in separate moments) and with Bliss who was undoubtedly with five champion titles, the person who achieved more success but the other two also remained in the Main Roster despite minor roles.

Murphy, formerly known as Buddy Murphy, was part of WWE budget cuts earlier this year. The former WWE Cruiserweight Champion is an amazingly gifted wrestler and one of the best free agents in wrestling right now. He has a few months left on his non-compete clause at this point.

Murphy will face AEW's Brian Cage at the ECW Arena in Philadelphia on September 18, 2021. The FTW Champion confirmed the match on his Twitter account, dubbing it AEW vs ex-WWE.
