Update on WWE plans for The Rock at WrestleMania 38

It has been almost a year now that we have been talking about the highly anticipated return of The Rock to WWE since Roman Reigns became the universal champion starting a storyline based on him as head of the Samoan family.

Obviously, the fans from that moment only have in mind The Rock who arrives to put Roman Reigns in his place, who is having a crazy titled reign, also flanked by the excellent manager Paul Heyman and his cousins, the Usos.

The Rock is certainly the leading figure of the Samoans who have made wrestling history, because without taking anything away from them, he has arrived in corners of the world that seemed impossible to reach, not only with wrestling but also with cinema.

WWE's rumored plan for the main event of next year's WrestleMania 38 is for him to go one-on-one against WWE legend The Rock.

The Rock is one of the most successful WWE Superstars in history

In June, the WrestlingNews colleagues had given a possible clue to his return by focusing the attention of the WWE Universe on the Survivor Series 2021.

This pay-per-view in fact will coincide with the anniversary for the 25 years since the debut of The Rock with the company. Roman Reigns, about a possible challenge between the two of them, had also said, interviewed by ESPN: "Seeing this match is a dream of our fans but it's not a dream for me."

Obviously, it is a sentence made to provoke. Instead, there are those who would like to see the two battle it out at WrestleMania 38 in front of the public and this is where WWE may have plans. In fact, as reported by the good Dave Meltzer of the well-known Wrestling Observer, an idea has been put on the table for discussion.

The idea is to have The Rock and Roman Reigns compete in opposite tag teams, with the most important stage in the world of wrestling as the setting for the challenge, in Dallas. Specifically, the two would fight with a twin at their side Use for one.

Meltzer pointed out how it could be useful to safeguard The Rock from any injuries that could damage his career in Hollywood, which has been his steady job for several years now. There are tensions between The Usos and The Tribal Chief, as witnessed on SmackDown over the last several months.

While they are currently on the same page, it might not be long before one of The Usos gets tired of Roman Reigns' ways. The Rock returning would make the equation even more interesting, and the two cousins could battle it out to determine the true "Head of the Table."
