Booker T comments on John Cena's WWE return

After spending over a year and a half at NXT, Finn Balor returned to the main roster last weekend for Friday Night SmackDown. Balor had decided to move to the black and gold brand in October 2019, taking away the satisfaction of winning the NXT Championship for the second time in his career.

Fans were delighted to see him back on the blue show, with the atmosphere made even more electrifying by the return of the live audience for the first time since the outbreak of the pandemic. Finn's last fight in WWE was back in May when he faced NXT champion, Karrion Kross.

In his famous 'Hall of Fame' podcast, Booker T commented with great sincerity about Balor's return to SmackDown, calling it a good move. He also talked about John Cena. “I'm happy to see Finn Balor back on the main roster, I think it's the right step for his career.

I'm not saying he didn't do very well at NXT, but in my opinion, he was a little wasted in that context. He was much older than the guys currently playing in the yellow show, he looked to me like a shark swimming in a lake.

Finn Balor is a star of the first level and deserves to be placed in the frame that best suits his talent” - explained the two-time Hall of Famer.

Booker T on John Cena

The pay-per-view Money in the Bank, which took place two days ago, experienced its highlight when John Cena returned to challenge Roman Reigns.

“It had been a long time since he had felt such a reaction from the WWE Universe. People will be able to say what he wants about John Cena, even that he sucks, but when he goes away the lack of him is palpable. Beyond the hypocrisy, people miss John Cena, it was noticed when he entered the arena in Texas.

We have had yet another demonstration of how important the 16-time world champion is for the success of this business," analyzed Booker T. John Cena made his plans known on last night's episode of Monday Night RAW, confirming that the WWE Universal Championship is his priority now that he is back in the company.

It looks like this will all lead to a bout between himself and Roman Reigns at SummerSlam. However, there is still plenty of time between now and SummerSlam, which has had fans wondering what exactly John Cena's schedule with be like. Fans can now rest easy, as WWE has confirmed The Summer of Cena and released his full schedule on their website.
