Goldust on Vince’s Idea for His Character

WWE has a large creative team that works day and night to create a good product. Over the years, the creative team has made a few mistakes, but that wasn’t the case back in the good old days. The creative team along with Vince McMahon, the chairman, was able to produce some very entertaining storylines!

During the Attitude Era, we saw the best wrestling storylines in the history of professional wrestling. Many former WWE superstars speak highly of Vince McMahon and how creative he was. He knew what the fans would like and what they would dislike.

He was an absolute genius back then, according to Vince McMahon. Goldust has been working with the WWE for a very long time. Throughout most of his career, he was a heel wrestler, and it was his job to make the fans hate him.

During the WINCLY podcast, Goldust shared a story about Vince McMahon. He was about to perform at the Madison Square Garden against Vega. McMahon wanted Goldust to hit Vega using a low blow from behind after the match ended.

That move got Goldust over with the fans and he used that move regularly. "I get back through the curtain and Vince grabs me and is hugging me like, 'Holy s--t that was awesome man!' It was like he was such a fan, he was such a huge fan at that moment and it made me feel like, 'Wow, man, my boss is really putting this over, I must've done something good.' It made me feel wanted and cared for. Vince does that, it was awesome,” Goldust said.
