Backstage Paul Heyman is rightly not convinced of what happened, but Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville confirm that the contract is there and the signatures are of Reigns and Cena, so the match is official. Does this mean that the contract was written "The first two to sign will clash at SummerSlam'', with no names or anything else? It seems bullshit to me, but let's take it for real.
- King Nakamura, Big E & Cesaro vs Apollo Crews, Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode. The match is not bad but difficult to follow, as often happens in those in which more athletes are involved. In the end, the team face wins, thanks to a final Kinshasa by Nakamura on Apollo Crews.
- Edge arrives on stage! The Rated R Superstar heads for the ring, but... Former WWE star Murphy wasn't optimistic about his WWE career after defeating Seth Rollins. He wanted to be in a program with Rollins but was instead put together with the Mysterios.
Seth Rollins attacks Edge
SETH ROLLINS GRABS HIM IN THE SHOULDER! Unheard-of violence of the Messiah, who even ends up throwing a camera in the head of his rival, leaving him unconscious. After the beating, Seth goes into the ring and says that he deserves to face the Universal Champion and knows he can defeat him, then leaves the ring satisfied and smiling.
The Boss is back - MAIN EVENT: Bianca Belair & Sasha Banks vs Carmella & Zelina Vega. The women return to the show's main event and obviously, it's the champion's team that comes out the winner, with Sasha making Mella surrender to her Bank Statement.
Once the match is over, the winners celebrate together, but ... SUDDEN BACK STABBER BY SASHA! Immediate turn heel of the re-entrant, which continues with a series of kicks and punches, then closes Bianca in the Bank Statement.
With the champion KO and Sasha lifting her belt, then applying her move again, this episode of the blue show ends. SummerSlam is the second biggest WWE event of the year after WrestleMania, and Edge will likely be a part of it.
However, it looks like WWE is trying to make SummerSlam 2021 not just the biggest party of the summer but also the biggest pay-per-view in recent times. With live crowds set to return next month, WWE wants SummerSlam to be as significant as WrestleMania 37.
Multiple outlets have reported that they can expect big returns to take place at this year's SummerSlam event.
