Since his return to WWE last year, Tribal Chief and WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns has literally dominated not just Friday Night Smackdown but the main roster. We can say without a doubt that Roman Reigns has been WWE's best wrestler for the past twelve months and no one has come close to that level.
Everyone in SmackDown and even Drew McIntyre from WWE Champion in one-on-one battle were beaten by the Big Dog who along with WWE Mad Genius Paul Heyman and Jey and Jimmy Uso rules the blue brand. During the last episode of WWE's The Bump, it was revealed that Roman Reigns has won The Bump's award for the superstar of the past six months.
The winner was awarded by the vote of the fans but surprisingly the Tribal Chief did not appreciate this recognition. In fact, during the show, Roman Reigns refused the award and told the presenters to give this award to John Cena.
John Cena officially challenged Roman Reigns
Roman Reigns is currently engaged in a tough feud with John Cena who has returned to Money in the Bank to challenge him. During the last episode of Friday Night Smackdown, it was announced that John Cena and Roman Reigns will compete for the WWE Universal Championship at the Survivor Series.
During The Bump after hearing the news of the award, the WWE Universal Champion reacted badly by refusing to accept the award and declaring: "So finally the fans recognized me as a champion? Well, give the award to John Cena since he needs their love more than me."
Roman Reigns beat all the opponents who tried to snatch the title, to remember not only his recent Money in the Bank victory over Edge but also the Triple Threat Match dominated at Wrestlemania 37 against Edge always and Daniel Bryan where he pinned both.
at the same time and proved to the entire WWE Universe as the greatest champion of SmackDown and the company. Unfortunately for the leader of the Cenation, Reigns turned down Cena's challenge and instead agreed to take on Finn Balor at SummerSlam.
The following week, Reigns and Balor were set to sign the contract for their match, but they were interrupted by Baron Corbin. The former King of the Ring attacked Balor and tried to claim the match for himself. Before he could put pen to paper, Corbin was attacked by Cena, who then proceeded to sign the contract and steal the championship match from Balor.
