Having gradually moved away from the ring as he got older, Triple H played his new managerial role with great dedication. The 14-time world champion is recognized as the main architect behind the birth and development of NXT, whose shows soon became a great alternative to Raw and SmackDown.

Since its creation in 2010, the 'Black and Gold' brand has been able to carve out a large slice of enthusiasts who have never stopped supporting the product. The plots offered by NXT in recent years have been even higher than those of the main roster, also for logistical reasons.

However, the past few weeks have been quite turbulent following Vince McMahon's decision to release several talents on the launch pad. In an interview with Sportskeeda, former WWE and WCW writer Vince Russo blamed The Game for the deplorable state of NXT today.

Vince Russo slams Triple H

"At the end of the day, Triple H is the man who bears the most serious responsibility for what is happening at NXT" - began Vince Russo. “It's as if HHH has been trying hard to go along with the advice of the Internet and social media on how he should be a WWE superstar, instead of sticking to Vince McMahon's directions.

It's no mystery what kind of athletes Vince wants. The Game grew a kids series through a methodology that would never have been successful with Vince McMahon. Triple H knew this very well. The philosophy of his talent has failed miserably and the athletes have paid the consequences” - he increased the dose.

In Russo's view, NXT would not be financially sustainable for WWE, all the more so after the entry of All Elite Wrestling on the scene. This may have prompted Vince McMahon to cut his budget for NXT and devalue talent on the yellow roster.

We will see if this feeling will find further confirmation. Speaking to Sportskeeda Wrestling’s Dr. Chris Featherstone, Russo discussed the alleged behind-the-scenes power struggle between Triple H and Vince McMahon right now in WWE.

He also commented on Kevin Nash joking around with the WWE Chairman at Triple H and Stephanie's wedding in 2003. “She winds up marrying a wrestler and Vince said that would never, ever, ever happen,” Russo said.

“Vince is a very, very, very vindictive human being. Bro, Kevin Nash tells stories of literally ribbing Vince at the wedding and saying, ‘Bro, DX got over on you, man. They got you."
