One of the most anticipated matches on Monday Night Raw is undoubtedly the Singles Match between the Legend Killer Randy Orton and the giant Omos. The Viper returned to Raw last week and at the end of the show, after winning a very interesting match against AJ Styles, he hit Matt Riddle out of nowhere with an RKO leaving the audience in shock.
The former NXT had stopped Omos and contributed to Orton's victory, despite the latter having explicitly specified that he did not like anyone's help and that he wanted to win that match totally alone. In the end, despite this, the evolution of the situation seems to be heading towards a challenge for the Raw Tag Team Championship between the champions AJ Styles and Omos and the RK-Bro Randy Orton and Matt Riddle, a strange couple that in recent months has made very entertaining throughout the WWE Universe.
Randy Orton finished AJ Styles off with an RKO
The opening match of SummerSlam featured a feel-good title change, as RK-Bro won the RAW Tag Team Championship from AJ Styles and Omos. The match may have been surprisingly short, but the in-ring action was pretty good throughout.
Randy Orton and Riddle both enjoyed enjoyable exchanges with The Phenomenal One. Most of the match was built on the h*t tag from Riddle to Orton, who turned the match into RK-Bro's favor. Omos also showcased his power but was quickly neutralized by The King of Bros.
All three competitors took to the sky during the match. Ripley hit a missile dropkick and Nikki floored both her challengers with a crossbody. Meanwhile, Flair hit a beautiful corkscrew Moonsault to the outside. The Queen continued her dominance by making the RAW Women's Champion submit to the Figure Eight at SummerSlam.
Again, this match was pretty good despite fans disliking the fact that Charlotte Flair won her 12th WWE Women's Championship. Bobby Lashley vs. Goldberg for the WWE Championship at WWE SummerSlam 2021 could have been booked in a million different ways.
But the way that the match played out and how Gage was added to the scene was sloppy. In the other contest valid for the secondary title of the WWE red show, Damian Priest instead got the better of Sheamus, after having ripped off the black mask that the Celtic warrior has been wearing for several weeks.
After seeing Sheamus use it as an improper weapon, Priest did the same, gaining quite a few advantages from the Irishman's protective mask. In the end, thanks to this strategy, Priest managed to knock out his opponent, graduating for the first time champion of the United States of Monday Night Raw.
