This year's edition of the McMahon company's summer Big Four will certainly remain firmly in the minds of WWE Universe fans for quite some time, with Summerslam truly being a much more important PV than Wrestlemania on both a media level and at the level of surprises for the public who flocked to the hall at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
The most sensational shots that WWE wanted to fire immediately, without waiting for further weeks or months, were the two most anticipated returns by fans for at least a year. We are obviously talking about the on-screen returns of "The Man" Becky Lynch and the WWE Beast, Brock Lesnar.
If one is back and immediately snatched the Smackdown women's champion belt from her colleague Bianca Belair, the other waited for the end of the main event to make her appearance in the ring and challenge the Tribal Chief of Friday Night Smackdown with her eyes, Roman Reigns, and then physically take it out on John Cena, once the cameras went out in the WWE.
Although both Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman seemed visibly agitated by the return to the ring of Brock Lesnar on Saturday evening, the Tribal Chief of Smackdown still wanted to comment in his own way and obviously in gimmick, the return of his colleague to the WWE after over a year of absences from the ring due to a failure to renew Brock's agreement with the company.
Roman Reigns had a rollercoaster ride at WWE SummerSlam
With this tweet in full Roman Reigns style, the Universal champion also wanted to mock The Beast, writing: "Inevitably everyone comes to crown their Tribal Chief."
It will be necessary to see now what WWE's intentions have with the two of them, as the next Big Four is Survivor Series and WWE doesn't usually fire a match like that in a transition ppv right away. We will also have to see when Lesnar returns to show up, maybe in the Smackdown rings or maybe not, to set up a feud with the Universal champion, who definitely has all the attention of the WWE Universe at the moment.
The biggest question following the epic ending of WWE SummerSlam 2021 is: whose side will Paul Heyman take now? Paul Heyman aligned with Roman Reigns last year and has been serving as the Special Counsel of The Tribal Chief.
However, he has most famously served as the advocate of Brock Lesnar for several years before that. Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar is a feud that we have seen multiple times.
