After the hit of CM Punk's signature, will the next big name to join the AEW roster be Daniel Bryan (almost certainly with his real name of Bryan Danielson)? A question that wrestling fans from all over the world have been asking for weeks, and to which the most authoritative source has decided to answer.
That is the one who is the owner of All Elite Wrestling: Tony Khan. The AEW CEO and President Tony Khan was in fact interviewed by Dave Meltzer on 'Wrestling Observer Radio' to talk about CM Punk, AEW All Out, some of the recent moves that WWE has made, Jon Moxley, the way the health emergency has affected the company and more.
And most importantly, Daniel Bryan. Meltzer asked Khan about rumors about Bryan Danielson. Khan has not confirmed anything, but not denied either. In fact, when he asked a specific question, he said the following: “I cannot answer this question.
It is fair that you ask this question, but it is not something I could address today on the Observer, but it is fair enough that you do. He is one of the greatest of all time."
Tony Khan on Daniel Bryan
Daniel Bryan's WWE status has been one of the h*ttest topics of discussion over the last few months.
After main-eventing Night Two of Wrestlemania 37, Daniel Bryan lost to Roman Reigns in April and was "banished" from SmackDown. Soon, reports emerged that the former WWE Champion's contract with the company had expired and he has since been a free agent.
According to PWInsider, via Cageside Seats, Daniel Bryan is not a member of WWE's roster. The report indicates that WWE still hopes to re-sign Daniel Bryan, but AEW could play spoilsport. Tony Khan, however, said he is working on further additions to the company's roster.
These are the words of the owner of the AEW: "I will definitely make more additions in the next 4-6 months and I think there will be some activity in the near future. I cannot specify exactly what it is and I don't think anyone would really want me to do it, just as no one would want any confirmation of whatever went into The First Dance what it was about or how it would be presented.
I will definitely be active and have been active in hiring people from day one in this federation. Recruiting talent is the key to any wrestling company is the key to any sporting activity." Aside from Bryan Danielson, other names poised to appear on the AEW employee roster are Ruby Riott and Ric Flair.
Adam Cole, who is currently a free agent, could also be. According to 'WrestlingNews.co', however, Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman are less likely to go to AEW.
