In the last episode of Monday Night Raw, the absence of Alexa Bliss did not go unnoticed. The wrestler has long been one of the driving forces of the red show and WWE has focused on her and her new character (alongside the doll Lily).
This week the fans of the WWE Universe were perhaps waiting for the continuation of this initial feud between The Goddess of WWE and the current champion Charlotte Flair, especially after the interesting glances between the two last week. These were the initial plans, but Wrestling News.co colleagues explained what really happened.
Backstage News on Alexa Bliss
Alexa Bliss targeted Charlotte Flair following her SummerSlam 2021 win, and it looked like the two stars would feud over the RAW Women's Championship. Instead, Flair faced Nia Jax in one of the most awkward in-ring presentations ever seen on WWE TV. The fight seemingly turned into a shoot and it made for a peculiar visual. Bliss later tweeted that she was present at RAW. According to some rumors, WWE chairman Vince McMahon changed the surprise plans of the company by upsetting what was planned for the show out of the blue. As we said, the chairman changed the titled plans with the match valid for the US Champion, the Triple Threat Match which initially was supposed to be a single match between Drew McIntyre and Damian Priest. Eventually, the plans changed and The Celtic Warrior Sheamus was also added. According to Wrestling News, the same situation happened for Alexa Bliss. Initially, the plans of WWE and the Raw creative team was to have a new promo between Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss to continue the titled storyline but reports refer to a Vince McMahon enraged about what was planned on Raw. So the owner of the federation tore up the programs, very angry, and literally rewrote the script from scratch.
Among the various changes there was also the absence of Alexa Bliss; she the wrestler was present in Oklahoma but she did not participate in the show while Charlotte Flair was the protagonist of a match against Nia Jax that saw her incredibly defeated. In recent weeks there has been a lot of discussion about the situation of Monday Night Raw with SmackDown which gets more and more success dragged by Roman Reigns and the recent returns of Brock Lesnar and Becky Lynch and Raw instead in sharp decline compared to the shows of the other transmissions with a Vince McMahon still worried and angry.
