After about a year and a half, WWE is ready to resume its famous tours around the world. Thanks to the improvement in the health situation due to vaccines, the return to normal is proceeding quickly and it is hoped that the variants of the Coronavirus will not cause further setbacks.
The Stamford-based federation will travel to the UK from 19-22 September, an opportunity not to be missed for British fans and beyond. The SmackDown roster will perform in four live events in London, Newcastle, Cardiff and Glasgow respectively.
The likes of Roman Reigns, Bianca Belair, Big E and the Usos have already been advertised for the event. This represents WWE's first international tour since the pandemic rocked the world early last year. Although a member of the Raw roster, Drew McIntyre will also take part in this tour to his immense satisfaction.
Interviewed by Tom Campbell for 'Cultaholic', the Scottish superstar illustrated how she managed to get her name on the list of UK tour participants.
Drew McIntyre will return to the UK
“When I saw that WWE had organized a UK tour, I immediately thought it was fantastic.
Problem was, I'm a Raw superstar. I should have politely threatened some people to guarantee me participation in that tour. That's exactly what I did,” Drew McIntyre joked. The former WWE Champion had returned to Scotland early last year in order to shoot a commercial for 'BT Sport'
“I was super excited when they told me I was going to shoot a commercial for BT Sport in Scotland. It was planned that I would meet my family and friends later that day. In the morning, however, I received a phone call in which they informed me that I would have to return immediately due to the gravity of the pandemic situation” - he said.
2020 has been an exceptional year for Drew, who has finally fully expressed his enormous talent. Former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre disclosed that Triple H was the reason he returned to the company in 2017. In a recent interview with ITR Wrestling, the Scotsman stated that he considered moving to Japan, but a conversation with Triple H changed his decision and he came back to WWE for a second run.
“I wouldn’t be back in WWE if it wasn’t for Triple H, it’s as simple as that. William Regal put me on the phone with him, we talked for 40 minutes, within that conversation at the beginning I wasn’t sure if I was going to come back, I was honestly leaning more towards Japan and by the end of it, I was 100% coming back," said Drew McIntyre.
