Why's WWE keeping The New Day separate?

In the first episode dedicated to the WWE Draft, the management of the Stamford-based company wanted to separate The New Day team once again, with Big E returning away from the couple formed by Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston once again, after switching from only two weeks on the same roster as his teammates.

After last year's Draft, in fact, the WWE had wanted to separate the trio of multiple world champions in pairs, with Big E who had started his path in single, which was absolutely fruitful, passing first from the Intercontinental title, arriving then at Money in the Bank, finally cashed big on Bobby Lashley.

After winning the WWE Championship, Big E had to move to the WWE red roster, with his shift being necessary, not to bring two world champion belts to the same roster, with Roman Reigns now firmly in his reign as Tribal Chief and Universal Champion for over a year.

When it now seemed that the three of the New Day could finally reunite, the WWE has instead taken away all the enthusiasm, once again, separating them with this year's Draft.

Backstage news on The New Day

A contest pinning The New Day against Mustafa Ali and Mansoor will be filled with athleticism and high-flying in-ring abilities.

The two teams recently competed on RAW in a Tag Team Turmoil match for a chance to battle RK-Bro, the reigning RAW Tag Team Champions. According to Dave Meltzer, a well-known journalist of the Wrestling Observer, in one of the latest newsletters of the site, it would seem that the WWE was afraid that Woods and Kingston could lower the status of the Raw world champion, remaining alongside the two companions, with the management that has thus decided to separate them again, after a year.

To the microphones of his latest update, Dave Meltzer said: "I thought by moving Big E to Raw, they would keep the group together, but obviously they had to move the whole group and this thing tells me that they don't care about having Big E with the other two guys with the idea that they could bury him and me.

I totally disagree with that. I think he raises the other two instead." Ali and Mansoor gave it their all with the latter almost rolling up Woods for the win. In the end, Kofi nailed Ali with Trouble in Paradise followed by a top rope elbow-drop by Woods securing The New Day's victory.
