Seth Rollins recalls when he signed with Ring of Honor in 2007

Prior to signing with WWE, Seth Rollins wrestled under the ring name Tyler Black for Ring of Honor (ROH), where he held the ROH World Championship once and the ROH World Tag Team Championship twice. He also wrestled for various independent promotions including Full Impact Pro (FIP), where he was a one-time FIP World Heavyweight Champion, as well as Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG), where he was a one-time PWG World Tag Team Champion.

Speaking in the latest edition of E&C's Pod of Awesomeness, the former Intercontinental Champion recalled when he signed with Ring of Honor in 2007: “I don’t know if WWE ever was interested in me. Yeah, I never heard anything.

I contacted them, I reached out to them so when I first signed with Ring of Honor, I signed a three-year contract. I signed with them and I was really excited to work there. That was a place that was, at the time, very renown for some of the best workers in the world and guys that I had been watching tape of now for 5 – 6 years."

On January 27 at the Royal Rumble pay–per–view, Rollins won his first Royal Rumble match by lastly eliminating Braun Strowman. The following night on Raw, Rollins challenged Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 35.
