Smackdown: Naomi suffers an unexpected loss

Backstage Zelina Vega joins Carmella and tells her she is happy to have to face her in the semi-final of the Queen's Crown Tournament, giving her a lot of compliments. Muneca concludes by saying that she does not want this match to ruin their relationship, so they will have to face each other honestly and have a clean match.

Mella seems to accept, too. - Queen's Crown Tournament Semifinal: Carmella vs Zelina Vega. Last week, SmackDown confirmed Sonya Deville’s in-ring return for a match against Naomi. There is no apparent reason behind the tension between the two of them but it was still good to see them back in action.

Or at least, that’s what the company advertised. The match came with a twist on the show as Deville introduced Shayna Baszler and turned it into a two-on-one handicap match.

Naomi still went into battle but the odds were stacked against her.

She could barely land an offense and even Deville took a step back, allowing Baszler to inflict most of the punishment. In the end, Naomi couldn’t withstand her blows and Deville put her feet on top of the opponent to win her first match in over a year.

Match that starts amicably, but does not last long. After a kick from Mella, Zelina attacks the opponent, who takes refuge outside the ring to go and have her protective mask put on. ZELINA ROLLUP! .. 1 ... 2 ... 3! The Vega goes to the final! We see Naomi backstage with Sonya Deville, the former WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion, confessed she’s thrilled to be back on the roster and is ready to “glow the show-up."

All this time, Sonya wasn’t uninterested in the conversation and constantly stared at her phone. However, when Naomi asked for an opponent, Sonya claimed she didn’t realise she joined SmackDown. Sonya then cuts Naomi in the middle of the conversation and says she will get to her next week.

“I do believe if she was put in that position, coupled with all of us surrounding her along with Paul Heyman and the rest of our creative brainstorming system that we have and how we craft our narratives, I think we could put her in a good position.

It’s just not something we’ve had time to come up with a thorough game plan. If we did, I think she’s definitely a superstar who could step up and take advantage of it,” said Roman said in an interview with New York Post.
