In recent weeks, WWE has concentrated a lot on putting together the card for Crown Jewel, the company's next PPV, which will air in just two days, from Riyadh. In this context, WWE will also stage the two final matches of the two tournaments dedicated to the King of the Ring and the Queen's Crown Tournament, with all four athletes who have already been selected by WWE thanks to qualifying matches that went in aired in the respective episodes of Monday Night Raw and Friday Night Smackdown of the last few weeks.
Also tonight on Raw, we saw the last semifinals, with two quite unexpected names, who came out of those matches as tournament finalists. Top AEW star and former WWE NXT champion Adam Cole took to Twitter to congratulate Xavier Woods for making it to the King Of The Ring Final.
Cole and Woods are close in real life, and their friendship is well-documented as they formed 'Da Party' alongside Cesaro and Tyler Breeze.
Xavier Woods defeated Jinder Mahal
If in the first semifinal we saw Jinder Mahal and Xavier Woods clash, in the second semifinal, the women's one, we saw two massive athletes, Doudrop and Shayna Baszler, with the latter considered by all to be the favorite for the victory of the entire tournament.
Shockingly, however, Shayna Baszler and Jinder Mahal came out defeated from their respective matches, with the MMA fighter who had closed her opponent in her submission finisher, but precisely because of that, she had been pinned by the opponent, who she had literally climbed on top.
On the other hand, however, we witnessed the victory of the only New Day member who has never won a world title yet, with Xavier Woods who will face the former Universal Champion and former NXT Champion, Finn Balor right at Crown Jewel, to contend for the WWE 2021 ring king crown.
Tonight on Raw, we also saw The Prince appear on the red show, with Balor going up against Mace, the former retribution member, with Finn managing to pin the giant athlete with his "Stroke of Grace" from the third rope and then go face to face with Woods, in front of the WWE cameras.
Earlier today, Xavier Woods defeated Jinder Mahal in the semifinals of the King Of The Ring to edge closer to his dream of winning the prestigious tournament. Woods now faces a daunting challenge in the finals where he goes up against 'The Prince' Finn Balor at WWE Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia.
