Pro Wrestling Illustrated's Kristen Slashly has announced to all wrestling fans in the world that WWE athlete Bianca Belair is number one on the PWI 150 annual women's wrestling list. The period considered is from 1st October 2020 to 30th September 2021 and wrestlers are judged on the basis of the record of wins and losses, technical skills, influence in sport, success against the highest levels of competition, success against the highest number of different opponents and activity.
So the top 10 of this year is made up of the following athletes: Bianca Belair (WWE) Utami Hayashishita (Stardom) Deonna Purrazzo (Impact) Britt Baker (AEW) Pink Thunder (AEW) Sasha Banks (WWE) Siri (Stardom) Io Shirai (NXT) Tam Nakano (Stardom) Raquel Gonzalez (NXT).
This is clearly a huge achievement for Bianca Belair
Taking into consideration all the criteria used to compile this ranking and to crown Bianca Belair as the best female wrestler of 2021, it is easy to understand why this decision was made.
In fact, Bianca won the Royal Rumble 2021, won the SmackDown title in the first Wrestlemania main event in history where she and Sasha Banks participated as the first two black women to arrive on that stage and had some crazy matches, especially with the Four Horsewomen, who only last year in this ranking were in the Top 5 together with Asuka.
In addition, Bianca Belair is making history by participating in a Triple Threat Match in Crown Jewel, Saudi Arabia, where women are still oppressed by machismo. Honestly, the coolest thing about her journey is the tremendous growth she has had, from her time at NXT, beloved by the public, to when she hit the main roster, where she had a really slow debut on Raw, but once she took it.
the path of SmackDown, she has been able to exploit all her skills, even with the help of the most expert colleagues who have been able to guide it. Hoping this athlete's extraordinary work does not stop there, the World Wrestling family joins to congratulate her and wish her another wonderful year full of success.
That being said, WWE veteran Vince Russo took issue with the move, claiming that Belair's braid could be more of a hazard than a source of entertainment. Russo shared his thoughts on Legion of RAW while discussing Bianca Belair's recent match against Charlotte Flair.
"Bro, when we get to Charlotte and Bianca Belair. First of all, I want to say this, these girls killed each other out there. I'll never take that away. These girls worked hard but I'm looking at exactly what I was saying last week."
