After the recent clashes between the New Day (Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston) and the Bloodline and the fact that Big E will face Roman Reigns at the Survivor Series in the classic match champion vs champion, Paul Heyman wanted to say a few words about the WWE champion and his stable.
"We have no problem with New Day, everyone likes New Day, they are great, they don't understand their place at the table and their place is to be submissive to the Bloodline. King Woods must understand that it's good to be a king, but this it doesn't make you a tribal chief.
Unless King Woods gets it and gets in line, he'll be welcome on the Island of Relevancy," Heyman said in an interview with ESPR Wrestling Podcast.
Paul Heyman opens up on Big E
Paul Heyman wants Big E to break away from The New Day, similar to how Roman Reigns did with The Shield.
The manager of Roman Reigns, business legends, also spoke specifically about the potential Big E has, which he believes could easily be at the top if only he decides to part ways with New Day. "I was very complimentary towards Big E, and I still am.
Big E needs to break away from The New Day, the same way Roman Reigns broke away from The Shield. Roman Reigns became such a megastar that The Shield could not contain Roman Reigns’ stardom any further and Big E needs to take that same approach regarding King Woods, and Kofi Kingston, and The New Day.
Big E is the WWE champion. When we think of the responsibility and obligation of being WWE champions, we are talking about Bruno Sammartino, Superstar Billy Graham, Hulk Hogan, Steve Austin, The Rock, Brock Lesnar, Undertaker, Triple H, these are the names whose legacies are now carried on the shoulders of Big E.
He has to stop being worried about the New Day. That's what I tried to tell him about Talking Smack. When he takes an individualistic approach and understands his role as him, he will be a supremely dominant WWE champion, second in WWE only to Tribal Chief and Universal Champion Roman Reigns." Roman Reigns kicked off his singles career in mid-2014 after The Shield's implosion.
He was immediately pushed to the moon and defeated WWE icon, Randy Orton, at SummerSlam 2014. He then competed in WrestleManias against the likes of Brock Lesnar, Triple H, and The Undertaker. Reigns is one of only two men to defeat The Undertaker at the 'Show of Shows.'
