Backstage, Kayla Braxton is chatting with Aliyah, but Paul Heyman arrives and the ex-NXT wrestler thinks it's best to get away. The Bloodline lawyer repeats that a real journalist does not talk about rumors, he must find confirmations or denials, and adds that Brock Lesnar will not return because he is suspended and, above all, because he is afraid of Roman Reigns.
Paul concludes by saying that poor Braxton is spreading fake news, so he will do anything to get her out of the federation. I love this behind-the-scenes rivalry and seeing Kayla finally involved in something important. Additionally, Ridge Holland’s promising debut has ensured that he is bound to have a bright future on the blue brand.
This week’s episode of WWE SmackDown witnessed Ridge Holland’s in-ring debut. He was scheduled to take on Cesaro in a singles match after his interference cost The Swiss Cyborg his spot in the Survivor Series team.
Ridge Holland’s in-ring debut
Holland’s idol Sheamus accompanied him to the ring and sat with the commentary team throughout his protégé’s big match. Although Cesaro eventually won the battle, Ridge Holland deserves credit for his impressive performance.
Ridge Holland vs Cesaro. Good performance by the English wrestler, followed by his idol and new ally Sheamus. In the final Holland is getting the better of him and kicks his rival on the ground, but ... SUDDEN ROLLUP! .. 1 ... 2 ...
3! Victory from nothing for the Swiss, with Celtic Warrior not taking it very well. The idea was that a Superstar who was eliminated cannot return to the ring during the match in any shape or form. One moment that stood out during the match was Madcap trying to eliminate Happy Corbin.
Considering they’ve been working together prior to Battle Royal, this was an interesting moment, possibly revealing a future storyline. Now, after a hard battle, the final four left in the ring were Jeff Hardy, Sheamus, Ricochet, and Happy Corbin.
It boiled down to Hardy and Sheamus, and the former secured the win. A title opportunity is always a huge one. And on WWE SmackDown, several have been trying to score a match against The Tribal Chief. Therefore, Zayn was ecstatic when he got the chance.
Kayla Braxton came out to the ring to interview him, but she received massive news – Brock Lesnar was returning to WWE SmackDown the following week (December 3rd, 2021). The latter should also be praised for the incredible amount of work he did inside the ring to put Ridge Holland over with the crowd during his debut match on WWE SmackDown.
