Ric Flair pays tribute to The Miz

During his long WWE career, The Miz has held the WWE Championship twice, the Intercontinental Championship eight times, the United States Championship twice, the World Tag Team Championship twice (alongside John Morrison and Big Show), four times the Raw Tag Team Championship (with John Morrison, John Cena, Damien Sandow and Big Show) and twice the SmackDown Tag Team Championship (paired with John Morrison and Shane McMahon).

The 41-year-old from Parma is the 14th wrestler in the history of the company to have completed the Grand Slam. Miz also won the 2010 edition of the Money in the Bank and the 2018 edition of the Mixed Match Challenge (with Asuka).

During the latest edition of his 'Wooooo Nation Uncensored' podcast, the legendary Ric Flair spoke at length about The Miz.

Ric Flair praises The Miz

The Miz appeared on several reality shows in the early 2000s, including 'The Real World' on MTV.

Few of the insiders believed that Mizanin had what it takes to make it into wrestling. "The Miz has exceeded the expectations that were of him at the beginning of his career. Miz is very different from the character he plays in the ring, he's not arrogant at all in real life.

He had the ability to hone his style and convey a feeling of realism to the fans. I'm really proud of his evolution, also because his career didn't start under a lucky star. He was not an athlete with a super background and was not reported as predestined.

He was just a guy who wanted to be a wrestler, but hardly anyone thought he would make it. What is his greatest strength? If you give him a script in his hand, you can be sure that he will rehearse it from 2 pm until the show airs” - said 16-time world champion, Ric Flair.

The Miz and Maryse will join forces to take on Edge and Beth Phoenix at the Royal Rumble. Unfortunately, while the zombies were the main focus of the match, The Miz suffered the first-ever serious injury in his WWE career.

Reports emerged claiming that he had suffered a potentially serious ACL injury. An ACL injury is a tear or sprain of the anterior cruciate ligament. The ligament connects the thigh bone to the shin bone and is crucial, but injuries to the ACL is common in sports, as it can occur with sudden stops, changes in direction, or landing wrongly after a jump. The injury is common in WWE Superstars and quite a few have missed time in the ring thanks to it.
