WWE has already announced dozens of names for its Royal Rumble, both for the men and women. Strangely, compared to other years, this year the company wanted to twist things a bit, also confirming numerous surprise names of its Rumble, especially as regards the female one, with the surprise entries of some legends and some former wrestlers of the company, which were practically revealed weeks after the event, leaving fans of the WWE Universe stunned.
In fact, in one of the last episodes of Friday Night Smackdown, WWE wanted to confirm that great names from its past, such as Lita, the Bella Twins, Mickie James, Michelle McCool and other colleagues, will enter the list of 30 women who will take part in the event, without leaving a minimum of suspense in the surprise names that come to the Rumble rings every year.
Apparently, however, in the last few hours, numerous other names of athletes have been circulating, who could still take part in the event in a surprising way, with the name of Ronda Rousey which is the last only in chronological order to be released in the last days.
Asuka is still a part of the WWE roster. According to WWE's official website, The Empress of Tomorrow is still listed as an active wrestler on the roster. However, it has been weeks since Asuka was last seen on WWE TV. The former RAW Women's Champion last competed on WWE back at the Money in the Bank pay-per-view in July when she competed in the women's ladder match.
Backstage news on Asuka
In the very last few hours, the other big name that WWE could keep in store for its fans on the night of January 29th, is that of Asuka, multiple champion of the company, who has already won everything she could win in the ring of WWE and who has now been absent since last summer, when he had to leave the company's TV screens due to an injury.
During the night, the Fightful Select, in fact, reported: "There are several WWE talents who are confident how Asuka will make her return to WWE Royal Rumble, although Fightful has not been able to confirm this yet. Like every Royal Rumble week, WWE is keeping everyone in suspense about possible returns or surprises, giving no answers.
We can confirm, however, that her name had at least been discussed internally as a potential entry into the Royal Rumble. Asuka hasn't appeared in the WWE rings since Money in the Bank in July, which was her only match since the brand returned live and toured in 2021.
Since then, Asuka has been battling an injury, of which we don't have many. no details or clues. We haven't heard if she has been declared capable of returning to the ring, despite her name being rumored as a possible entry, internally."
