The period of the Royal Rumble is always a rather strange and complicated period for WWE, with the Stamford-based company trying to bring as many surprises as possible into the first Big Four of the year, especially in the process of opening the Road to Wrestlemania, with the match with thirty men and the match with thirty women, which will be perfect for staging such surprises.
This year, unlike in the past, WWE did not want to keep all these surprises hidden until the last, like other years, but some of them wanted to confirm them well in advance, also creating a lot of hype, when it announced the name of IMPACT Wrestling champion, Mickie James, as a participant in the royal brawl, opening the famous hidden Forbidden Door now years ago.
Apparently, there could be the addition of a few other names not foreseen in the Rumble, with other major returns like that of Asuka and Ronda Rousey or the addition of some NXT athlete, especially in the real male fight, with Gunther (WALTER ) or NXT champion Bron Breakker, who may be taking part in the event.
John Cena will make an appearance on the Super SmackDown show that will take place this Friday at Madison Square Garden. Cena was originally supposed to team with Rey and Dominik Mysterio to face The Bloodline, the trio of Roman Reigns, Jey Uso, and Jimmy Uso.
What will happen on SmackDown?
Apparently, some NXT athletes would have been called by WWE to take part in this week's Friday Night SmackDown tapings as well, with such names that it is not known at the moment if they will appear in front of the cameras or if they will only take part in some dark matches.
, or even won't appear in front of the show's audience at all. According to what was reported in the last few hours by the well-known website PW Insider, in fact: "Dakota Kai, Io Shirai, LA Knight and Roderick Strong have been scheduled for this Friday's WWE Smackdown tapings from Kansas City, PW Insider confirmed the news." At the moment we do not know what these athletes will do, but it seems that one of these athletes, or the LA Knight, has already started a feud with some members of the main roster, with a video released by the WWE, from the last episode of Raw, in which it is sees Knight arguing with the duo of Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode (and with Roderick Strong walking behind them). Could NXT's talents immediately be added to the company's blue roster?
