Kairi Sane's WWE return is approaching

The closer we get to the first Big Four event of the year, the Royal Rumble to be precise and the more different voices emerge online, with many names that have already been joined by both the male and female Royal Rumble, with numerous names of athletes and former athletes, who have already been confirmed for their return to WWE on January 29th.

This year, in fact, WWE wanted to change a little the modus operandi of the construction of its first annual Big Four PPV, with different names of participants in the female royal brawl, which in the other years were kept secret until the last second and which instead this year have been revealed weeks in advance, including the likes of Bella Twins, Lita, Michelle McCool and Mickie James, who will all take part in the royal brawl of the company, although some of them are part of other federations.

There has been a lot of talk around Kairi Sane's status following the recent changes to her Instagram handle. Dave Meltzer revealed in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Kairi Sane's WWE contract has officially expired.

Sane hasn't been featured on WWE programming since June 2020. She returned home and posted an emotional goodbye to her fans and colleagues.

Update on Kairi Sane's future

After the names of Asuka and Ronda Rousey, the name of another Japanese wrestler for the real brawl with 30 women also emerged, with the former tag team champion of the main roster, right together with Asuka, who would be evaluated by the management of the WWE as a possible addition to the event.

As reported in the last few hours by the well-known overseas site, Fightful Select, in fact: "Kairi Sane hasn't wrestled with WWE for a year and a half, but we heard her name was chosen as a possible entry into the Royal Rumble this weekend.

Sane left the United States in the summer of 2020 and returned to Japan, where she remained with WWE on an official post, as the company's ambassador. She also worked as a commentator for WWE, also in Japan." At the moment, the girl is therefore expected to be withdrawn, but it is not known if the WWE has managed to convince the former NXT champion to return to the ring, even if only one night only for the federation Rumble.

We just have to wait another two days, to understand if her name will really be included in the list of 30 women of the Rumble or not.
