In a perfect world, without technology and media, the Royal Rumble might be a complete surprise, but nowadays spoilers are around the corner and a bit of magic could be lost. This is what has been happening for several weeks now because between the announcements made in the episode by the WWE itself and the various wrestling news sites, we now know almost all the participants in the two Royal Rumble matches this Saturday.
In fact, a little while ago we let you know that the singer Bad Bunny will probably also be in the match that gives the show its name, after having made a beautiful figure in the last Wrestlemania. The ongoing WWE storyline between Vince McMahon and Austin Theory was a h*t topic on this week's Legion of RAW, which featured the legendary Bill Apter as a special guest.
The veteran wrestling journalist shared his thoughts on the angle and even discussed the possibility of Shane McMahon returning for a match against Theory. Also, our colleagues at Ringside News, who churn out news and possible spoilers together with Fightful, have made it known that most likely, Shane McMahon will also take part in the 30-man match.
Will Shane McMahon be at the Royal Rumble?
“Ringside News has heard that Shane McMahon is ready for the Royal Rumble match. This confirms Brad Shepard's previous report that we independently verified with a role member of the creative team.
Just like in the case of Bad Bunny, we weren't able to confirm if there are plans at Wrestlemania for Shane McMahon. Given that the Wrestlemania season usually brings Shane-O Mac back to the top spot, that seems like a very likely hypothesis." For the women's Royal Rumble, on the other hand, there are other speculations about some returns, such as that of Asuka, who was left out due to injury, or Kairi Sane who has her contract expiring in February and currently lives in Japan, or exes like Melina and Cameron.
But surely the most sensational name is that of Ronda Rousey, who could return and then go to challenge Becky Lynch at Wrestlemania 38 in a match that all fans have been waiting for since 2018. Obviously, all this news must be taken with a grain of salt, we do not know if these people will really return, but surely the Royal Rumble event brings out in people that sense of curiosity that leads us to think about who could enter at any moment in the arena accompanied perhaps by an iconic theme song.
We just have to wait for official news from WWE or directly for the matches on Saturday 29 January 2022 on the WWE Network.
