WWE announces the first titled match for Elimination Chamber

The rumors had been reporting it for months now and finally, the official confirmation's arrived: this year, the Elimination Chamber of the Stamford-based company will arrive in the rings of Saudi Arabia, with the homonymous ppv which takes its name from the infernal cage of the company, which will air from Asian rings and not from the United States, as happened in recent years.

On February 19, 2022, in fact, from Jeddah, Elimination Chamber will be broadcast, with the first challenge that has already been confirmed by WWE, although the contenders for the title have not yet been made official. The match made official a few minutes ago by the WWE account on Twitter, will in fact be valid for the WWE Championship of Bobby Lashley, called to his first defense after the sensational victory against Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble.

After less than a month, therefore, Bobby will have to put the belt up for grabs, against 5 other opponents, trying to get to Wrestlemania with the title still at his side, with the company's plans that seem to be more and more convoluted and dispersive, also due to plans skipped due to the positivity of the last few weeks.

Huge update on Elimination Chamber

Bobby Lashley doesn't appear to be too concerned about defending the WWE Championship inside the Elimination Chamber next month. The All Mighty recently defeated Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble.

With the help of Roman Reigns, Lashley was able to successfully capture the WWE Championship. We recall how initially, WWE had thought of Seth Rollins as a possible WWE Champion out of Day One, ppv of early January, with the world title of the red show which instead ended up in the hands of Brock Lesnar, due to the positivity of Roman Reigns.

As revealed by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, WWE had very important plans for either Big E or Lashley in Wrestlemania 38, with one of them most likely going to fight for a chance to win the world title. Raw in the Showcase of the Immortals, against the reigning champion who should have been Seth Rollins.

Now that the champion is Bobby Lashley, however, we will have to see who is going to send us against the company of Stamford, with Brock Lesnar, winner of the royal brawl, 99.9% going against his arch rival Roman Reigns, especially after the split with a lot of betrayal by his mentor, Paul Heyman.

The following is an excerpt from WWE.com regarding Lashley's title defense at the Elimination Chamber premium live event next month: "After conquering Brock Lesnar to reclaim the WWE Championship in an epic showdown at Royal Rumble, 'The All Mighty' Bobby Lashley will now defend his title against five elite challengers inside the career-altering Elimination Chamber when the Premium Live Event emanates from the world’s largest pillarless superdome in Jeddah on Saturday, Feb.19."
