During his long WWE career, JBL won the WWE Championship once, the Intercontinental title once, the United States Championship once, the European Championship once, the Hardcore Championship eighteen times, and the World Tag Team Championship (alongside Ron Simmons), becoming the 10th wrestler in history to have completed the Grand Slam.
Last year, he was inducted with full merit into the WWE Hall of Fame. His last appearance in the ring was on October 23, 2020, when he appeared on Raw as a bribed judge by The Miz in the trial to determine Otis’s opponent.
A guest on the latest edition of 'RAW Talk', the former WWE Champion said the chances of seeing him in action are low.
JBL talks about his future
“Fans often ask me this question and I really appreciate their interest.
I have no intention of returning to the ring at this stage in my life, I have to be honest” - revealed JBL. “I don't have the right head to do it and I wouldn't even physically do it. At the same time, I would be happy to lend a hand to some young talent on the launch pad.
I love working with the guys and making my experience available to them ”- he added. John had been hired by WWE as a producer, but that experience did not leave him a wonderful memory. “I tried that job for a few months, but I have to admit I didn't like it very much.
You have to try to explain things to the athletes as clearly as possible, but you are forced to deal with a lot of contrary opinions. There are several people with whom I had to deal at that juncture, some behaved very well, while with others there were problems.
I confess that Roman Reigns was impeccable towards me. He has had a terrific career and will take away further satisfaction in the coming years. Even before he got to play the WrestleMania main event, it was noticed that he had something more than the other guys” - JBL commented.
The former World Champion appeared on RAW Talk this week and was asked about AJ Styles having great momentum on his side. The former APA member stated that AJ Styles competes at a very high level no matter who he faces. AJ Styles to me is this generation's, Shawn Michaels.
Every time he goes out there no matter who he is against, he competes at an incredibly high level. He has done it since he has walked into WWE. He is a star and he is going against a future star and cornerstone of WWE, Damian Priest. Do I think he can win? Absolutely. - said JBL.
