Vince Russo reflects on Finn Balor

Finn Balor was one of the great protagonists of the last episode of Monday Night Raw. Against all odds, the former NXT champion took the US title by beating Damian Priest at the end of a no-holds-barred battle. However, Priest gave birth to a ferocious beating after the bell rang by realizing his turn heel to general dismay.

In addition to being the first Universal Champion in the company's history, 'The Prince' has won the Intercontinental title a couple of times during his main roster career. He also held the NXT Championship for a total of 504 days, setting a new longevity record.

In the classic weekly 'Legion of RAW' on Sportskeeda, former WWE and WCW writer Vince Russo criticized the way the company handled Finn Balor’s victory.

“WWE couldn't have handled Finn Balor's triumph in the latest episode of Monday Night Raw any worse.

After having already damaged his character a lot in recent years, they have done another avoidable nonsense" - began Vince Russo. “Balor won the US title, a major success that should revive his career. Instead of giving the boy a chance to enjoy the moment, they overshadowed everything with Damian Priest's turn heel.

Can you explain the meaning of this move? Finn's victory took a back seat. It would have been enough to postpone Damian's turn heel to next week” - he added to the dose. Russo also spoke of Alexa Bliss: “Alexa's case is very similar to that of Chad Gable, who became Shorty G.

WWE has to sell a huge amount of Lilly Dolls, which is why it continues to promote the character of Alexa Bliss. Everyone realized that the experiment failed, but there is a commercial reason behind the choice of the federation." WWE is preparing to host WrestleMania 38, which will take place over two nights at Arlington's AT&T Stadium.

Priest attacked Balor after the bout and ruined his celebration in the process. The Archer of Infamy expressed his frustration by dishing out a brutal assault on the new United States Champion. Balor has now added another big accolade to his list of accomplishments.

The current United States Champion is also a former NXT Champion, WWE Universal Champion, and a WWE Intercontinental Champion. The Prince will be heading into WrestleMania 38 with the WWE United States Championship. The newly-crowned champion is expected to defend his Championship at the Show Of Shows.
