Dutch Mantell opens up on Stone Cold Steve Austin

Stone Cold Steve Austin has accepted Kevin Owens' invitation to attend a special edition of the 'KO Show' at WrestleMania 38, which will take place over two nights at Arlington's AT&T Stadium. Through a video posted online, Austin sent a strong message to Owens, accusing him of insulting the state of Texas and promising to make him pay.

The last match played by Stone Cold in WWE dates back to WrestleMania 19 in 2003, when he faced The Rock in Seattle. The 57-year-old from Austin hit peak popularity in the late 1990s, playing the gimmick of an irreverent beer-drinking anti-hero who used to take on federation boss Vince McMahon.

Stone Cold has won 19 titles during his career, as well as winning the 'King of the Ring' tournament and the Royal Rumble match. On March 30, 2003, he was forced to retire from wrestling due to severe neck and knee injuries.

On the microphones of 'Wrestling Shoot Interviews', Dutch Mantell spoke about the return of Stone Cold Steve Austin to WWE.

Dutch Mantell on Stone Cold Steve Austin

“Stone Cold Steve Austin will return to WrestleMania 38, even if only for an interview.

He shouldn't play a match” - began Dutch Mantell. “I think Vince McMahon’s goal is to get those 3-4 minutes that will make the story of Mania 38. There will be a lot of people in the arena and Steve Austin’s return will be greeted with an absurd roar.

I think we will see a special event, perhaps the best of the last 20 years ”- he added. Dutch also commented on the return of Cody Rhodes: “He will get a lot of attention in the first 2-3 weeks, but what happens next? From the fourth week, his character is likely to start suffering.

All the buzz around him will be gone and the already established superstars will take over. This is my fear. Cody is a very good wrestler, but he doesn't even get us close to the level of his father Dusty. He is a good fit for WWE, but I don't think he's tipping the scales that much."

PWInsider recently confirmed that former AEW EVP Cody Rhodes has indeed signed a deal with WWE and will be appearing during WrestleMania weekend, most likely facing Seth Rollins. In an update on the same and a potential spoiler, Fightful Select has reported that Cody is set to be featured on the RAW after WrestleMania 38.

It is not known at this time what plans the company has for him going forward, but there are surely several dream opponents and feuds that he could have with the current roster.
