Raw: Austin Theory lost his name

Over the years, WWE has made the most disparate changes to the stage names of its wrestlers, with those who lost their surname, those who lost their names and those who saw their pseudonym become completely something else, denaturing the pseudonym by which he was known in the company's rings.

In recent years, for example, the wrestler Riddle has in fact gone from being called Matt Riddle to simply Riddle. This is just the latest example of how Vince McMahon plays a lot with his athletes, trying to give them the most direct and simple name possible so that he can stay in the minds of fans more easily.

Other examples of athletes who along the way have lost part of their name are (Antonio) Cesaro, Andrade (Cien Almas), Big E (Langston), (Alexander) Rusev and Apollo Crews and Mustafa Ali who initially became only Ali and Apollo and then returned to have their full name instead.

This week, on Monday Night Raw, yet another change came for a young athlete from the red show, with Austin Theory losing a portion of his stage name, remaining with only one of two denominations. Just as happened in the past with several other colleagues, Austin Theory also presented himself to the audience of the red show without a piece, with the protege of Vince McMahon wanting to remove a very important piece from his ring name, that is his first name.

In a very fast backstage segment, in the company of company officials, Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville, Austin wanted to announce to the two how from now on they can only call him Theory, without the name, with the two WWE executives who are were quite astonished by the thing, not finding too many words to comment on this choice.

Shortly, Austin Theory, or rather Theory, will be called to go to challenge the United States champion Finn Balor, given that the status of the young athlete now allows him to aspire to something more on the main roster of the Stamford federation.

Theory is one of the youngest prospects in WWE today. Nobody on the main roster has been given the spotlight at his age more than the 24-year-old. Even Vince McMahon declared him as a future world champion at WrestleMania 38.

Austin Theory went into Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville's office on RAW and declared a name change ordered by Vince McMahon.
